Do I have to be an International Ninety-Nines Member and/or Aloha Chapter Member to participate in events?

• No, membership is not required, but it is recommended. 

International 99s and Aloha Chapter membership gives you access to scholarships and resources to assist you in flight training, and contributes to the amount of money available in scholarships.

Do I need to be a pilot to join?

• No. You also don't have to be a pilot to participate in our events!

Although, in order to become an International Member, you must be at least a student pilot.

How often are chapter meetings held?

• Chapter meetings are often held every 2 months. Social events are scheduled in between events.

Are there leadership positions available?

• Official board positions are available every two years. Although we do not have any positions available mid-year, we encourage you to get involved now and run for 2025!

I'm interested in becoming a pilot, where do I begin?

• Attend our annual Hawaii Aviation Expo!

• You've come to the right place! The 99s is the perfect place to find community, study buddies, mentors, and scholarships that will help you through your aviation journey. 

• Find the flight school and instructor that is right for you. 

• Apply for scholarships to pay for flight training and study ahead using a ground school curriculum and FAA handbooks.

• Ask your local 99s members if you have any questions.

I live in Hawaii but not on Oahu. Can I still become a member of the 99s?

• While we are located on Oahu, our chapter serves the rest of the Hawaiian Islands with opportunities to connect virtually. Reach out to us to get connected, and we can introduce you to other 99s located on the outer islands as well. If you live on Maui, they have their own chapter in which you may find out about here.
